The beginning of a new era 🌅

Taylor here! Writing this while sipping on maple iced coffee while watching New York City pigeons bop around outside my window…

I’ve written this newsletter twice a month for 3.5 years, totaling 86 separate editions.

Today we're entering a new era. 🎉

Before this newsletter was sent just to members of the Groove community, but I know there are many people, who would benefit from the stories, resources, and encouragement being shared among us.

So, I'm opening the doors a bit wider; Groovers will continue to get separate community updates, and others can join the fun and sign up for this!

In this transition, Josh asked me, “What would you have so much fun writing every two weeks?”

Welcome to that newsletter. 🌅 We're calling it Finding Your Groove, just like our new podcast. And, Josh and I are creating it together. Let’s go…

Menus of choices & seasonal transitions 🍁

If you know Josh and me well, you know we LOVE a good voice note. A while back, Josh and I used to record “voicemails” to each other and share them publicly. It's one of my favorite things we’ve ever done, so, THEY’RE BACK BABY! 👏

This week, I left Josh a voicemail about why I want to create a “movement menu”, aka a list of choices to lower my decision-making when I workout/move my body…and how this framing can be applied to other ways you want to spend your time.

Josh responded from the mountains of Virginia, sharing a pattern he’s noticing in how he reacts in moments of overwhelm and his desire to create more slowness in his life this fall.

If you’re in a moment of transition and/or dreaming of new routines and boundaries, totally eavesdrop and listen to our latest voicemails to each other.👇 Feel free to leave a comment or drop and emoji back.

This week’s surprise & delight ✨

📸 Word you should know…daguerreologue (noun: an imaginary conversation with an old photo of yourself, in which you might offer them a word of advice, and more)

New episode with Geetika Agrawal 🎙️

The pressure of building projects you care about, while staying creative, and keeping it all together is a lot. Our guest, Geetika Agrawal, hit a breaking point. 👀

Geetika shares her story of feeling burnt out, how she rested (which was really hard to do), and after, hit reset by defining her non-negotiables.

She’s a human with a deep love for art, travel, and spending her time doing vs. consuming. She started an amazing company called Vacation With An Artist—picture Airbnb, but learning from a pro about their craft on your trip.

🍭 A sweet episode tease: tune in to hear how a boy on a bus with big rolls of paper and a woman in a garage kitchen inspired us to do things differently as kids.

Celebration corner 🎉

We’re big believers that seeing others live life their way makes it more possible for all of us to do things our way. Sending high-fives to these humans!

  • Alyssa Towns🪩 has been freelancing full-time for 6+ months and shared how it’s going AND the realness of what helped her take the leap and leave her full-time job—cheers to normalizing that bold decisions often come with micro-experiments, sacrifices, and support. 👏
  • Roger Coles🪩 dropped a fabulous Canva tip for all of us content creators and landed a speaking opportunity at SmileCon, teaching dentists how to use Canva 🪥
  • Laura Green🪩 started a newsletter 🎉 and shared a powerful gem (and opinions on her car's 'lane assist feature' that made me smile 😊)...here it is for all of the biz owners reading this: "Use [your] systems as guardrails to protect [your] vision.” YESSSS!

Are you celebrating something? We’d love to celebrate with you! Reply to this email with the deets.

Looking ahead 👀

Tomorrow at 12pm ET our next podcast episode will drop with Carlos Saba 🏕️, who runs a summer camp for business hippies, filled with stories about finding balance, how “lifequakes” can change our paths, and how our finite amount of time can shape how we show up.

🙏 Thanks for reading this new version of our newsletter! As always, we're only an email away. Tap reply to share your thoughts!

Hey Reader... What's something on your to-dos this week that you're absolutely dreading?Taylor here 👋 I’ve been thinking a lot about how to make the tasks I dread more fun. 👀 So, I left Josh a public voicemail about it and he responded from the forest (yes, you’ll literally hear the leaves crunching below him) with his new way of marking energy drains and gains on his to-dos/calendar. If you’re thinking about how to end your work day without feeling like the gas tank is running low, totally...
